Friends,
Thus far, SpeakSpeak supporters have sent over 500 messages to
the FCC opposing the Parents Television Council's ridiculous
complaint about the "infantilism" episode of CSI. These emails
have also been copied to CBS as a show of support.

The February 17th CSI program was meant for adults. CBS acknowledged
this by running a disclaimer prior to the show. Yet the PTC, in its
infinite wisdom, believes that the government should levy its
maximum fine against CBS and its 200 affiliates.
They also claim that they've sent 12,000 complaints
to the FCC.
On merit, we win. But on numbers, they've got us beat.
That's okay.
SpeakSpeak is in its infancy. We've been together for not much more
than a month. We haven't spent a penny on advertising. The mileage
we've gotten is from word of mouth and a few press hits. We're
entirely volunteer-run. Where the PTC's deep pockets fund an
activist empire, our pockets contain lint and chapstick.

Millions of people feel the way we do about this issue. Can you help
us get in touch with 500 of them?
You undoubtedly know others who think this indecency business is a
crock. Word of mouth has gotten us this far. Get your friends
involved. Ask them to send a letter. We won't collect their email
addresses. We won't beg them for money. We just need all those
like-minded folks to weigh in. We need to make a difference.
Can we aim for 1,000 by Monday? Will you commit to getting the word
out?

Yes the Parents Television Council. I remember reading somewhere that 99% of the outraged objections to Janet Jackson's titty (and where are the outraged objections to the awfulness of her music?) were from this group, guardians of all our souls.
Why can't we form a group that says that everything on tv shouldn't suck so much?
