Congressperson of the month award
goes to Louise Slaughter, D-NY.
She is one person who actually cares about really scary things like this:
"On Bill Maher's show the other night, he touched on a recent poll that showed that 50% of high school students believe the Government should decide what newspapers can publish and one out of five believe that Americans should be prohibited from expressing unpopular opinions."

Opinion/102280006
She allegedly wrote this El Presidente: " it appears that Mr. Gannon's presence in the White House press corps was merely as a tool of propaganda for your Administration."
She is also pushing for a return to the notion of equal time for political views in broadcasting, which was required from 1949 to 1987 for tv stations. The bill is called the Fairness and Accounting in Broadcasting Act and is based on the notion that 'because broadcasters receive free licenses to use the public's airwaves, estimated to be worth hundreds of billions of dollars, they have an obligation to uphold the public's interest, and to adequately inform the public about news and opinion.'
It goes on to claim that since the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine, there has been a proliferation of highly partisan news outlets that disseminate unbalanced news coverage.
